Your privacy, in plain English

PartyRush is built for playing together, not for collecting data. Here's exactly what happens to your information, with no legal fog.

No accounts

Nothing to sign up for. We never ask for your email, phone number or a password.

You choose cookies

PartyRush sets no cookies of its own. Ads only use cookies if you say yes, and PartyRush+ removes ads completely.

Rooms disappear

Names and answers in multiplayer stay private to your game, and the room is deleted after it goes quiet.

Anonymous stats

We count things like which games get played, to make PartyRush better. You can switch it off.

What we collect (and what we don't)

✅ What we do handle

  • The player name you type when you join a multiplayer room, and what you do in that game.
  • Anonymous usage stats tied to a random ID, never to you.
  • The basic technical details every website receives (like your IP address and browser), which our hosting provider needs to deliver the page.

🚫 What we never collect

  • Accounts, emails, phone numbers or passwords
  • Your precise location, contacts, camera or microphone
  • Anything sold or shared for marketing
  • Tracking across other websites

Single-device games

When you pass one phone around, the player names you type stay in that browser tab's memory. They're gone when you close the tab and are never sent anywhere.

Multiplayer rooms

Multi-device games are synced through Firebase Realtime Database, a Google service. When you host or join a room, this is what's stored:

All of this is visible to the people in your room. It's never public, and other players outside your room can't see it.

Checking for bugs: so problems can be found and fixed, the developer can open a live room to watch how the game is running. This is view-only: the developer can't be seen, never joins or changes your game, and never screenshots, records, saves or shares anything they see. Nothing from a room is used for anything other than fixing bugs.

Rooms are deleted once they've been quiet for 24 hours, usually within a day or two of your game. There's no lasting history of what you played, wrote or voted. Google's own Firebase privacy terms also apply.

Anonymous usage stats

To figure out what to improve, PartyRush counts how the app is used:

This is linked to a random ID stored in your browser. It's not a cookie, and it's never connected to your name or contact details. It's kept in our Firebase database, only the developer can read it, and it's deleted after about 13 months.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which count visits and page speed without cookies and without tracking you across sites.

Want it off? Open PartyRush, tap About, then tap Anonymous usage stats. It stays off on that browser.

What's stored on your device

PartyRush uses your browser's local storage, not cookies, for a few small things:

ItemWhy it's there
partyrush:deviceIdA random ID. It puts you back in your seat if you refresh mid-game, and it's the anonymous ID for usage stats.
partyrush:firstSeenThe date of your first visit, so we can tell new visitors from returning ones.
partyrush:privacy-accepted-v2Remembers that you've seen the privacy notice.
partyrush:no-usageOnly there if you switched usage stats off.
partyrush:usage-…Small markers so a visit isn't counted twice.
Firebase sign-inOnly if you play multiplayer: the anonymous sign-in token, so rooms know which player is you.

You can clear all of it at any time in your browser's settings for partyrush.app.

Services we use

ServiceWhat it does
VercelHosts the website, and provides cookieless visit and speed analytics.
Google FirebaseRuns multiplayer rooms (with anonymous sign-in) and stores the anonymous usage stats.
Google FontsSupplies the fonts. Your browser downloads them directly from Google.
jsDelivrSupplies two small open-source tools: the confetti effect and the room QR codes.
CloudflareHosts the website and checks PartyRush+ purchases.
EzoicShows ads (when ads are switched on), and asks for your cookie consent first.
StripeTakes PartyRush+ payments. Your card details go straight to Stripe — we never see them.
Ko-fiHandles tips, on Ko-fi's own site.

These providers only get what they need to do their job. None of them gets your data from us for marketing.

Ads

Ads keep PartyRush free. They're provided by Ezoic, which works with ad partners such as Google. When ads are switched on, Ezoic shows a consent pop-up first. Ad partners only use cookies or similar technology to personalise or measure ads if you agree, and you can change your choice at any time from that pop-up's settings link. Until ads are switched on, the short break between games is just a countdown, with no ad network involved.

Ezoic's own privacy policy is at ezoic.com/privacy-policy. If you'd rather have no ads at all, PartyRush+ removes them.

PartyRush+ & tips

PartyRush+ is a one-off purchase. Payment happens on Stripe's secure checkout: your card details go straight to Stripe and we never see or store them. Stripe also needs your email address for the receipt, under Stripe's privacy policy.

After you pay, our server confirms the payment with Stripe and gives you an unlock code. We store only that code and the time it was created — not your name, email or card. The code is saved in your browser so PartyRush+ stays unlocked, and you can type it in on another device. If you're refunded, the code is switched off.

Tips go through Ko-fi on Ko-fi's own website, under Ko-fi's privacy policy. PartyRush only counts that the tip button was tapped.

Children

PartyRush is for general audiences. Savage mode has adult themes and asks for confirmation before it starts; the normal modes are family-friendly. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your rights

PartyRush is run by one independent developer in the UK, who is responsible for this data. We handle it because it's needed to run the multiplayer games you choose to play, and because it's in our legitimate interest to understand, anonymously, how the app is used so we can improve it.

Under UK and EU data protection law, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being used. Because everything is tied to random IDs rather than your identity, the quickest way to cut the link is to switch off usage stats or clear your browser's data for partyrush.app. You can also email us, and we'll help.

If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If anything important changes, the date at the top will change and the privacy notice will pop up again in the app, so you won't miss it. Small wording fixes won't trigger that.
